Compare FOB and U.S. landed costs before you order

FOB product cost is one input to your buying decision. Compare quotations for the same model, quantity and named shipping term, then add the costs needed to reach your actual U.S. delivery location.

Build a per-unit cost worksheet

Cost inputWhat to request
GoodsExact configuration, quantity tier, packaging and customization.
One-time costsSamples, tooling, artwork and testing, allocated over an appropriate volume.
TransportFreight, insurance and handling on the agreed route.
ImportBroker-confirmed duties, taxes, clearance and other applicable fees.
DestinationFinal delivery, warehousing, preparation and expected defects or replacements.

Compare bulky products carefully

For coolers, chairs and tables, carton dimensions and pack quantity can materially affect freight cost. Request gross weight and carton volume for the selected packaging. A smaller FOB number does not necessarily produce a lower delivered cost.

Separate production from delivery

Reference production days exclude sample approval, artwork, transit, customs and domestic delivery. Work backward from your required arrival date and confirm each milestone in the quote.

Avoid assuming retail profit

A competitor’s retail price is not your expected selling price or margin. Account for channel fees, discounts, advertising, fulfillment, returns, warranty support and your own operating costs before setting a target purchase price.

Product and commercial details must be confirmed for your selected model. This guide is general purchasing information; it does not establish compliance, product availability or a binding quotation.
